Bio Notes: Archibald Henderson began his career in Macduff when he arrived there in July 1914 to take up the post of Resident Engineer for the Princess Royal Basin Scheme.

He closely identified himself with the life of the community, becoming the Officer Commanding the Macduff Volunteers during the First World War. Archibald Henderson worked as a civil engineer in Aberdeen. On completion of the harbour works in 1919, he began business on his own account in Aberdeen as a Consulting Engineer, but acted as engineer Macduff Harbour until his death in 1947.

He formed a partnerhsip with George Gordon Nicol which continued until 1938 but thereafter worked as Archibald Henderson & Partners.
