Basic Biographical Details Name: | Charles Collas Robin | Designation: | | Born: | 1876(?) | Died: | 1916 | Bio Notes: | Charles Collas Robin was born at St Peter’s Port, Guernsey in 1876. Nothing is known of his father who does not appear in the 1881 census record, but his mother Rosalie was the Principal of a Ladies School in the town. By 1890 the family seem to have removed to London. In that year Charles C Robin was articled to the architect Alfred Frampton, remaining until 1894. Following his articles he was employed as assistant to W A Finch and H Whitman Rising. He attended Lambeth School of Art, the City of London College and Birkbeck Institute and travelled in Belgium. He was elected Fellow of the RIBA on 2 December 1907, his proposers being H W Rising, J R Smith and E D Drury.
In 1903 he entered into partnership with Sidney Vincent North. In November 1915 Robin enlisted in the 28th Battalion London Regiment (the Artists’ Rifles) and died on active service in 1916.
