Bio Notes: Norman Alexander Barr was born in Johnston, Renfrewshire on 30 January 1943, the son of Alexander Barr, school-teacher and his wife Thomasina Cowan. He studied for the degree of BSc (Arch) at the University of Strathclyde. He was elected ARIBA 1966 and joined Baxter Clark & Paul in 1967. By 1970 he was working in the Glasgow office and seems to have remained there. He was appointed Associate in 1972 and Senior Associate in 1975. He was responsible for the supervision of Paisley General Hospital. He later (after 1984) was appointed a partner but left to set up practice on his own. By 1994 he was practising as Norman Barr Associates.
