Bio Notes: Norman Ian Sproul was born on 18 August 1922, the son of David Sproul, merchant seaman and his wife Isabella Small. He attended the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art. He was elected ARIBA in 1952 and ARIAS in 1964. He joined Robert Gellatly Rigg Brown in partnership before 1970. The practice was still in operation in 1980.

Sproul died on 4 October 1982. He was not married but at the time of his death was engaged to be married to Elizabeth M Philp.
