Bio Notes: Peter Francis Nigel Miller was born on 8 May 1924. He studied part-time at Canterbury College of Art from August 1940 while a pupil in the office of Harold Anderson. His training was interrupted by military service from August 1942 to April 1947. In May of the latter year he returned to Canterbury College of Art to study full-time, remaining there until May 1950. The following month he joined Gaby Schreiber as assistant. He passed the final exam in December that year, had his thesis approved a year later, and was admitted ARIBA on 6 May 1952, his proposers being his former employers Hellbers and Anderson as well as John L Seaton Hall.

Still in 1952 he left Schreiber's office for that of Sir Hugh Casson. He commenced practice on his own account in 1954, and two years later entered into partnership with W Tritton in Chelsea. In 1965 they were joined in partnership by Donovan Purcell, with offices in both Chelsea and Norwich. The practice specialised in interiors, exhibitions and conversions.

Miller was elected FRIBA on 7 February 1968, proposed by Purcell, R W Paine and Bernard Melchior Feilden. He died in Norfolk in mid-1997. The practice still continues under the same title of Purcell Miller Tritton.
