He had lived and worked on Skye before taking a post with the Property Services Agency in Edinburgh in 1973. He rose to become Principal Architect in the Directorate of Scottish Services. Initially he worked as project manager on a wide range of RAF buildings and telephone exchanges. His greatest achievement was the new Sheriff Court House in Glasgow. He coordinated the construction of the building, the design of which was by consultants chosen before the PSA was involved. His 'distinctive management style helped ensure that at all times' all those involved 'performed as a team'.
He died on 18 May 1987 four months short of retirement. |
