He practised in Berkhamsted in England. He was elected ARIBA in 1934 and FRIBA in 1947. His wife, Jane Macpherson, was almost certainly Scottish. He retired to Linden Lodge, Loanhead, Midlothian about 1976. He died on 30 January 1986 at Braeside, Carlops to which he had moved.
