Bio Notes: Ian Rose was born on 24 July 1936, the son of William Montgomery Rose, motor mechanic, and his wife, Margaret McDougall, health visitor. He studied for the degree of BSc in Architetcure. He was elected ARIAS in 1964. He joined Baxter Clark & Paul in 1966. He was repsonsible for the work carried out by the firm for the South of Scotland Electricity Board, including the new Grid Control Centre at Kirkintilloch and a Special School for Glasgow Corporation. His main areas of responsibility in the early 1980s were industrial work and housing work. He became a partner in 1975.

Rose subsequently left Baxter Clark & Paul to set up practice on his own. He died at the Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow on 23 February 2005. He was married twice, first to Elspeth Crosbie and second to Mary Margaret Johnston or Farmer, autism support teacher.
