Bio Notes: John Shields Kay was born on 27 September 1926, the son of Robert Kay, cashier, and his wife Agnes Shields. He studied at Glasgow School of Art. He was elected ARIBA and ARIAS in 1953. He seems to have been in partnership with Alexander Wright from at least 1960 until Wright's death in 1972.

Nothing else is yet known of his career. He died on 19 July 2000 at his home in Milngavie. He was survived by his wife Isobel Dorothy Adams and at least one son.
