He spent the year 1950 in the practice of Basil Spence & Partners in Edinburgh and worked on the designs for Festival of Britain. He was elected ARIBA in 1953. He moved to London and joined the practice of Yorke, Rosenberg & Mardall where he was initially an architectural assistant but rose to the position of associate partner in 1959 and partner in 1961.
In 1969 he was elected FRIBA, proposed by Hugh Casson, Eugene Rosenberg and T R Evans.
He may be identified with the person of the same name who was a company director of 40 Earlham Street and who resigned in 1995.
