Bio Notes: Leslie Albert John Heywood was born on 10 June 1910. It is not clear whether he had any direct Scottish connections or experience. In 1930 he was appointed assistant to Orphoot & Whiting, after six months in that position, in December the same year, he moved to Devon County Council as junior draughtsman, working under the County Architect Percy Morris. In 1931 he took a course under Sir Bannister Fletcher for the RIBA intermediate exam.
