Bio Notes: Carl Alfred Lucas Levick was born on 27 June 1909 and studied Architecture at the University of Sydney from 1927 to 1933, obtaining a BA. He then gained practical experience in architects' offices, reaching the position of senior assistant before travelling to Britain in 1935 and working in practices in London and Cork. From 1939 until at least 1941 he was employed by W G Phillips of 9 Victoria Street, London, being given charge of the firm's Glasgow office. Throughout these years he spent a month of each year travelling in Britain and Europe. He was admitted ARIBA on 21 October 1941, his proposers being Leslie Wilkinson, Joseph C Farrell (or Forrest?) and Henry E Budden.

Levick practised in Durban from 1948 to the end of his life, under the form of C A L Levick. He died there on 9 February 1982.
