Basic Biographical Details Name: | James Wattie | Designation: | | Born: | 17 December 1896 | Died: | 29 April 1967 | Bio Notes: | James Wattie was born on 17 December 1896 at North Lodge, Skene House, Skene, Aberdeenshire, the son of James Wattie, journeyman tailor, and his wife Mary Eliza Duguid Morrison or Corbett who had married in Aberdeen. He was articled to Robert Baillie Pratt of Elgin in 1912. He registered as an architect in 1937. He was elected LRIBA in 1947, proposed by S George, R Ramsay Knox and Edgar Langley. By this date he had a post in the Architecture office of the Borough Engineer's Department in Lambeth in London. His home was in Bedford. He was still in Bedford in 1960. He retired in the 1960s.
Wattie returned to Scotland and died aged 70 in the Royal Infirmary in Aberdeen on 29 April 1967.
