Bio Notes: Derek Harold Rhodes was born on 20 November 1934. He enrolled on the full-time architecture course at Glasgow School of Art from September 1951, spending his vacations with Baron Bercott. He completed the course in June 1957 and in addition sat the final exams for the BSc degree in architecture in September of the following year. He was elected ARIBA on 3 October 1961. No proposers are listed in his Nomination Paper.

From June 1957 until September 1958 he was an assistant with Bercott but moved to another assistant post with the practice of Cecil Johnston in Belfast. In October 1960 he transferred to Carl Fisher & Associates in London as senior assistant, being promoted to associate in January 1962. He final move was to Stock Page & Stock in March 1965 where he began as senior assistant, on a probationary period prior to partnership, then salaried partner in January 1967 and full partner in January 1968. He was elected FRIBA on 3 June 1979, his proposers being Terence C Page, R M S Rees, and E J Hugh Cameron.

He died on 20 October 1986.
