Basic Biographical Details Name: | Gordon Donald MacLean | Designation: | | Born: | 28 May 1925 | Died: | 8 August 2004 | Bio Notes: | Gordon Donald MacLean was born on 28 May 1925, the son of Murdo MacLean, grain merchant and his wife Dorothy Williamson. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1953. He was living in Kirkcaldy around this time. He was an apprentice with the practice of William Williamson. By 1957 he was living in Edinburgh and studied at Edinburgh College of Art.
Maclean worked on some Scottish projects while with Murray Ward & Partners, probably in the 1960s. He was elected ARIAS in 1964.
In the 1980s he worked in the Glasgow section of the Common Services Agency, Building Division. He retired (before 1996) to Auchterarder, Perthshire.
