|Bio Notes: ||Philip Oliver George Wakeham joined HM Office of Works in the early 1930s before entering the office of Palmer & Turner in the Far East. He served with the Royal Engineers in Burma during World War II, returning to Palmer & Turner on the cease of hostilities. He was employed on large scale projects such as banks in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore. |
He returned to the UK in 1951 and formed a partnership with Anthony Tripe. Their main client was the Armed Services and they undertook a comprehensive building programme which included HM Barracks at Chelsea and the Polaris Base at Faslane.
Wakeham died aged 76 in December 1982.
