Basic Biographical Details Name: | Philip Oliver George Wakeham (Brigadier) | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | December 1982 | Bio Notes: | Philip Oliver George Wakeham joined HM Office of Works in the early 1930s before entering the office of Palmer & Turner in the Far East. He served with the Royal Engineers in Burma during World War II, returning to Palmer & Turner on the cease of hostilities. He was employed on large scale projects such as banks in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
He returned to the UK in 1951 and formed a partnership with Anthony Tripe. Their main client was the Armed Services and they undertook a comprehensive building programme which included HM Barracks at Chelsea and the Polaris Base at Faslane.
Wakeham died aged 76 in December 1982. |
