Basic Biographical Details Name: | Rob Hunter | Designation: | | Born: | c. 1954 | Died: | October 1994 | Bio Notes: | Rober Hunter was born in Renfrewshire in about 1954. . He studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art. During his student days he formed an attachment fo Edinburgh and in particular the Old Town. He later served on the Committee of the Old Town Association and several of his designs can be found in this part of Edinburgh, though a number of his infill schemes were never executed. He completed a submission for a limited competition in the city shortly before he died.
As well as his practice Rob Hunter taught from 1988 at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen where he had a reputation as an inspiring communicator.
His obituarist describes him as 'a large man in stature and personality' who ''instinctively valued quality in all areas of life from the visual and performing arts to music, food and travel'.
