Bio Notes: Edward David Webster Duncan was born on 20 August 1929, the son of James Duncan, dairy farmer and his wife Grace Wilson Thomson Penman. He studied architecture at Dundee College of Art. He was elected ARIBA in 1953.

Duncan spent some time in East Kilbride working for the Development Corporation. He seems to have moved to Lanarkshire in the early 1960s and was perhaps an employee of the County Council or one of the town councils around Hamilton or Bothwell. By 1979 he had the post of Director of Architecture, Hamilton District Council.

At the time of his death on 8 December 1993 he was a retired associate of the RIAS. He was survived by his wife Elizabeth Margaret Drummond.
