Bio Notes: About June 1899 George Sutherland formed a partnership with James Jamieson in Elgin. The partnership was formally dissolved on 31 December 1903 by mutual consent but had probably ended for all practical purposes some time before. Therafter Sutherland practised in Aberdeen and Jamieson on his own in Elgin.

At the beginning of 1902 Sutherland entered into partnership with James M Pirie as Sutherland & Pirie. Pirie's relationship, if any, to John Bridgeford Pirie and his son Bridgeford MacDougall Pirie is unknown but he had commenced practice c.1899 or 1900, and had designed a couple of substantial houses by the time of the partnership.
