Bio Notes: Douglas Victor Hamilton studied at Dundee College of Art. He was elected ARIBA in 1963. He joined James Parr & Partners in 1982. In 1986 he was a partner with McLaren Murdoch & Hamilton in Perth where he remained at least until 1994.

The practice of James Parr & Partners was established in 1956 by James Parr. It subsequently became James Parr & Associates in 1960 and in 1962 James Parr & Partners. In 1975 the firm split and Alan Bell, Gordon Farquharson and David D Bell all left. Alan J Duncan was taken into partnership followed in 1977 by Alfred Maloco, Daniel A Carmichael and Iain A G Rennie, in 1982 by Victor Hamilton, in 1989 by Robert Hall and in 1990 by Hugh Dykes.

In 1975 offices were established in Edinburgh, in 1974 in Greenock and Aberdeen and in 1975 in Inverness, in 1986 in Rosyth and in 1990 in Durham.
