He studied at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art and graduated in 1951. He was elected ARIBA in 1952. He worked for the SERHB and later was Assistant Architect to the Western Regional Hospital Board. He remained with the hospital services after they came under the auspices of the Common Services Agency. He was still there in 1979. He is not listed in Directories in 1987.
Peters died on 17 December 2005 aged 77 at Claremont Care Home in Ayr.
