Basic Biographical Details Name: | Milan Prodanovich | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | | Bio Notes: | Milan Prodanovich was born in former Yugoslavia. He studied for the degree 'Dipl.Ing.Arch.' in Belgrade and for the diploma in town planning and for a Ph.d degree in London. From 1966 to 1970 he worked in the architect's department of Cumbernauld Development Corporation. In the latter year he moved to the London Borough of Brent where he was a job architect. From 1976-1982 he drew up several master plans for cities in former Yugoslavia and undertook several research projects in the Yugoslav Institute for Town Planning and Housing, Belgrade.
He held several academic posts in the 1970s, firstly from 1972-1974 as studio tutor at Faculty of Architecture Thames Polytechnic, London; then from 1974-1976 as studio tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning and from 1980 he was a lecturer at the Department of Urban Design, Oxford Brooks University. In 1985 he was appointed Professor of Urbanism, Chair in Urban Design, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. From 1999 he also taught at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Florence.
At the same time as holding his post as Chair of Urban Design he was Course Director "Urbanism and Communications", for the Alternative Academic Educational Network, Belgrade and Course Leader "Sustainable city" experience from design and construction.
