Bio Notes: John McDonald Watson was admitted ARIBA in 1962. He commenced practice as John M Watson Chartered Architect in May 1966 at 274 Bath Street, Glasgow. James Mason Paterson joined him as junior partner in May 1967 and the practice was then known as Watson Paterson Architects and Town Planning Consultants. In 1968 they moved to an office in West Regent Street, Glasgow and in 1979 moved to 6 Lynedoch Crescent, Glasgow.

About 1989 Stuart Ingram became junior partner and the practice became WPI -Watson Paterson Ingram Chartered Architects and Town Planning Consultants. Ingram left the practice in early 1994 and the name was changed to WPA- Watson Paterson Architects.

Due due to illness James Paterson could not practice from 1994 until his death in December 1995.

The premises in 6 Lynedoch Crescent were sold in December 1997 and Watson continued to practice at his home, 11 Orchard Drive, Giffnock until 2008.
