Bio Notes: Thomas Dick Beaton was born on 15 May 1922, the son of Thomas Dick Beaton, tobacconist, and his wife Helen Smith. He studied at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art. He was admitted ARIBA in 1950. He was working for the Glenrothes Development Corporation in 1953 where he remained until at least 1960. That year he designed ahouse forhimself in Kirkcaldy.

He joined the practice of Williamson & Hubbard before 1965 where he was still working in 1979. It is not clear if he returned to work in Glenrothes or he was in independent practice there.

He died on 11 April 2005 at his home in Kirkcaldy. He was survived by his wife, Betty Hickman and his son.
