Bio Notes: David Hird studied for the diploma in architecture at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen. He was awarded the Rowand Anderson Studentship (1959), 125 and a silver medal, whilst a student. He was elected ARIBA in 1966 and remained in Aberdeen after qualification. He seems to have joined the City Architects Department and by 1979 had the post of Assistant City Architect. He is not listed in the 1994 RIBA directory and may have retired by that date or perhaps withdrawn from the RIBA.
