Basic Biographical Details Name: | George William Chirnside | Designation: | | Born: | 19 September 1927 | Died: | 28 October 2007 | Bio Notes: | George William Chirnside was born on 19 September 1927, the son of Thomas John Chirnside, detective sergeant, and his wife Lizzie Shaw Oliver. He studied at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art and graduated in 1954. He was later a partner with Leslie D Morrison & Partners, Architects. Eric Davidson recalls that at some point he worked for East Lothian County and was based in Haddington. He was elected ARIAS in 1960. He is not listed in later RIBA directories (after the early 1960s) and had perhaps withdrawn from the RIBA.
Chirnside died on 28 October 2007 at Falkirk Royal Infirmary.
