Bio Notes: Arthur Swfit was born about 1912. From 1938 to 1953 he was a senior architect with the Ministry of Works. In the latter year he set in in independent practice. He was elected ARIBA in 1954. The practice subsequently became Arthur Swift & Partners which undertaken a wide range of work including some very large projects such as the redevelopment of Victoria Station, Nottingham (£8 million), Hastings Civic Centre (£4 million) and Ballymum New Town, Dublin (£12 million), as well as multiple stores in the Strand in London.
