Margaret McKenzie's father was also a mason and worked in the Invergordon area. Alexander MacKenzie (or McKenzie) practised in Tain as a Master Mason and died of Phthisis on 2 May 1873 at Petley Street. His death was reported by James Maitland, architect, who was a neighbour.
