He studied for his diploma at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen. He was elected ARIBA in 1951. He formed a partnership with ___ Mackie and Peter Allan Beveridge Ramsay before 1965.
He died at Roxburghe House, Milltimber on 26 October 1999 at which time he was a retired ARIAS. His wife, Edith Helen Sutherland Allan, also an architect, had predeceased him.
