Bio Notes: Robert Meldrum was born on 6 December 1909, the son of John Meldrum, shipping engineer, and his wife Catherine Barber. He was A.M.Inst.C.E. and A.M.T.P.I. He held the post of Burgh Engineer of Kirkcaldy in the mid-1950s and may have moved to become City Engineer elsewhere subsequently as he is described as such in the death register.

Meldrum died on 7 November 1978 at 8 Horseleys Park St Andrews, survived by his wife Annie Miller Ritchie and at least one son.
