Bio Notes: David Gordon Wilson was born on 20 June 1914, the son of Duncan Cameron Wilson, wholesale stationer and his wife, Margaret Ann Gordon. He was articled to R Carruthers Ballantyne in Inverness from September 1932 to September 1935, and thereafter studied for three years at the School of Architecture, Robert Gordon College, Aberdeen, where he took his final diploma exam in June 1938, was exempt from the RIBA final, and passed the professional practice exam that July. In the latter month he found employment in the office of R Leslie Rollo, working on cinema design and construction, licensed premises and domestic work. He was still there when he was admitted ARIBA on 16 July 1940, his proposers being Rollo, John Gibb Marr and R Carruthers Ballantyne.

By 1950 he had moved to Inverness. He was elected FRIAS in 1964. He resigned his 'present post' as a local government architect in Kinross-shire at the age of 65 in June 1978.

Wilson died agd 92 years on 11 October 2006 at Ashley House, 16 Perth Road, Milnathort. His wife, Elizabeth Margaret Laing, had predeceased him but he was survived by his daughter Mhairi who was living in Auchtermuchty at the time of his death.
