Bio Notes: William Murdoch Rigg McMenan was born on 3 April 1921, the son of John Murdoch McMenan, electrical engineer, and his wife, Mary Jane Wallace. He was admitted ARIBA in 1950. He was sole partner in his own firm from about 1955 or before but he appears to have retired about 1969 and the practice was run thereafter as McMenan & Brown with Archibald Lachlan Brown as sole partner.

McMenan died from carbon monoxide poisoning on 15 July 1965 at his home in Helensburgh. He was not married.
