Born: 1927
Died: 15 May 1983
Bio Notes: Geoffrey George Wimpenny was born on 20 March 1926, the son of John James Wimpenny, commission agent, and his wife Doris Maud Jefferson. He studied for the Diploma of Architecture at Manchester School of Architecture. He was elected ARIBA in 1951 and ARIAS in 1958.

In 1951 he had a post as architectural assistant with Sanger & Rothwell in Oldham, Lancashire. In 1953 he moved to John Keppie Henderson & Gleave as senior assistant, being promoted to junior partner in 1955 and senior partner in 1960. He was elected FRIBA in 1968, proposed by Jack Coia, George Grenfell Baines and Walter Underwood.

Since joining the practice he had also been responsible for other educational buildings and the design and execution of four large chain stores in Scotland (probably Littlewoods).
