Bio Notes: Thomas Russell Scott was born about 1925. He studied for the degree of BArch at Strathclyde. He was elected ARIBA in 1950. That year he took a post as junior assistant with the practice Keppie practice which at that time was Keppie Henderson & Gleave. He was promoted to assistant and then senior assistant before 1955 in which year he became a junior partner. In 1960 he became a senior partner with the practice which was Keppie Henderson & Partners by that date. He was involved in his early days with the practice in school, factory and office buildings. Latterly he specialised in hospital design and was partner in charge with Richard De'Ath of a number of large projects undertaken by the practice.

He was elected FRIBA in 1968, proposed by Jack Coia, Ninian Johnston and Walter Underwood.

Scott was active in professional matters and served on the Council of the Glasgow Institute of Architects and as well a acting as public relations officer for the Institute. He also served on the council of the RIAS and was a member of the Joint Building Group in Scotland and of the Joint Standing Committee. He acted as RIBA external examiner to the RIAS and of the School of Architecture in Strathclyde University where he also lectured on their Post Graduate Management Course.

He retired in 1986 and resigned from the RIBA in 1989.
