Basic Biographical Details Name: | Alexander Murdoch Buchanan | Designation: | | Born: | 9 March 1919 | Died: | | Bio Notes: | Alexander Murdoch Buchanan was born on 9 March 1919 at Glendoick Manse in Errol Parish, the son of Joseph Weir Buchanan, a UF Church clergyman and at that time serving as a Lieutenant with the Royal Garrison Artillery, and his wife, Mary Dreghorn McCaw. He studied at Glasgow School of Architecture, He was admitted ARIBA in 1948. In 1950 he was living and perhaps also working in Troon. In 1970 he was working for Stevenson & Ferguson at 11 Barns Street, Ayr. He was sole partner in 1980. He seems to have been a partner woth T K Irving as T K Irving & Partners by 1981. Perhaps he was partner in both firms concurrently?
