Bio Notes: Malcolm MacLeod Pottinger was born on 16 September 1928 in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, the son of Catherine MacLeod. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1952. He studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1956. He joined Covell Matthews & Partners as director in 1975. He worked in the Edinburgh office of the firm. By 1994 he had retired or left the firm. He was married to Wilma Spence and the couple had one daughter.

He died on 19 May 2012.
