Bio Notes: Frederick Wright was born on 11 September 1901, the son of John Wright, tailor and his wife Mary Ann Cooper. He served his apprenticeship in the Aberdeen City Architect's Department from 26 February 1917, attending evening classes at Aberdeen School of Architecture (Robert Gordon's College). He passed the intermediate exam in 1932 and became a student member of the RIBA. For the following two years he furthered his studies through being tutored by senior colleagues. He passed the final exam in July 1944 and was elected ARIBA on 12 December that year, his proposers being J A O Allan, James B Nicol, and Alexander Buchanan Gardner, who was Aberdeen City Architect. Wright was still working in his department at that time, and remained there until at least 1953.

He died on 6 August 1960, survived by his wife Hilda Mary Ross.
