Bio Notes: Robert Leiper studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen. He was admitted ARIBA in 1953 and ARIAS in 1954. In about 1963 he was living in Hamilton in Lanarkshire. He joined the practice of Hugh Martin & Partners in 1969. He remained there until at least 1987 but is no longer listed in 1994.

'He was in the Associate charge of the redevelopment of the Town Centre of Greenock (CDA) in Greenock, that would be 1967-68 and when Malcolm Arthur (Mollie) had a heart attack Bob took over and ran the job himself with myself as the main draftsman. Motherwell Town Centre redevelopment including the tower block of flats called Brandon Tower which I worked on extensively, he was the Architect in charge. I worked in the practice until 1970 when after the break up of the partnership I left as the atmosphere was no longer good.' (Alastair Ross)

Robert Leiper died on 22 February 2014 at Craighead Nursing Home, Newport, Fife. He was survived by his wife Iris and his children, David, Rebecca, Catley and Danie.
