Bio Notes: Alan John Duncan was elected ARIBA in 1971 and was a partner in the firm James Parr & Partners from 1975.

The practice of James Parr & Partners was established in 1956 by James Parr. It subsequently became James Parr & Associates in 1960 and in 1962 James Parr & Partners. In 1975 the firm split and Alan Bell, Gordon Farquharson and David D Bell all left. Alan J Duncan was taken into partnership followed in 1977 by Alfred Maloco, Daniel A Carmichael and Iain A G Rennie, in 1982 by Victor Hamilton, in 1989 by Robert Hall and in 1990 by Hugh Dykes.

In 1975 offices were established in Edinburgh, in 1974 in Greenock and Aberdeen, in *** in Inverness, in 1986 in Rosyth and in 1990 in Durham.

In 1989 the practice title became The Parr Partnership.
