Bio Notes: William Henry Dickie was born on 3 March 1918, the son of Samuel Dickie, gas works manager and his wife, Christina Helen Calder. He studied at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh College of Art and graduated in 1951. He was elected ARIBA in 1952. He was taken into partnership by John Sutherland in 1961 and the name of the practice became Sutherland & Dickie.

Dickie died on 9 July 1989, survived by his wife Helen Brodie Fleming.
