Bio Notes: John Lamb was born on 16 June 1917, the son of John Lamb, a minister of religion, and his wife Catherine Smith Hendrie. He seems to have had a distinguished military career and had been awarded the MC during World War 2. He studied architecture at Aberdeen School of Art. He was admitted ARIBA in 1948 and FRIAS in 1959. He was also a qualified surveyor. He joined the George Bennett Mitchell practice as partner in 1971. He was a Vice President of the RIAS in 1964-65, representing the Aberdeen Chapter.

He died at home in Kingussie on 1 March 1989. He had been married twice, first to Margaret Elizabeth Mitchell and second to Diana Margaret Prior.
