Bio Notes: Albert McCombie commenced independent practice in 1949 working from his home in a farmhouse near Insch. Later that same year he moved the practice to 102 High Street, Inverurie and in 1952 to Earlsmohr, High Street in the same town. In 1963 once again he moved, this time to 60 Market Place.

Alexander Mennie joined the practice as an assistant in 1957 and was taken into partnership in 1965. The practice name then became McCombie & Mennie. In 1964 the practice then moved to 64 Market Street. The practice specialised in work on historic buildings and surveys for the National Trust for Scotland.
