Bio Notes: Thomas ('Tom') Hamilton was born on 23 March 1929 in Belfast. He worked for the Belfast practice, Young & Maclenzie, a firm which had excelled in commercial architecture and designs for the Presbyterian Church. He studied for the diploma in architecture in Aberdeen. He was also FInstD. He graduated in 1964 (gaining distinction in Construction and Structures) and was elected ARIBA in 1966. He joined the Jenkins & Marr practice as partner in 1967. He remained there until his retirement in 1995 as one of the senior partners.

He died in February 2013, survived by his wife Hazel, four children, five stepchildren and ten grandchildren.
