Basic Biographical Details Name: | George Watt | Designation: | | Born: | 8 March 1908 | Died: | January 1980 | Bio Notes: | George Watt was born on 8 March 1908 and was articled to Frank Drummond Thomson of Dundee in 1924, studying at the Dundee Technical College. He moved to London in 1928 to study at the Northern Polytechnic and to seek wider experience, first in the office of Herbert Archibald Welch (1928 to 1929), then in those of Imrie & Angell (1929 to 1930), William & Edward Hunt (1930 to 1933), H S Goodhart-Rendel (1933 to 1934), and Slater, Moberly & Wren (1934 to 1939), where he was appointed chief assistant. He passed the qualifying exam in London on 5 December 1938 and was admitted ARIBA on 6 March 1939, his proposers being John Alan Slater, Arthur Hamilton Moberly and Goodhart-Rendel.
Watt remained in London thereafter. He would appear to have formed the George Watt Partnership at some point late in his career. Barry Edwards and John Littler were partners.
