Bio Notes: William McGill was born about 1890 in Cleland, Lanarkshire. He was articled to Steel & King in Wishaw. He then opened business on his own account in Motherwell. He was married to Elizabeth Dalrymple.

In the 1930s he worked as Wilson & McGill, having become a partner of John Wilson junior and taking over the Wilson family practice. The younger Wilson who ran a fruit farm in California was presumably a sleeping partner.

McGill died on 6 November 1944 aged 54.
