Bio Notes: Thomas Alexander Page was born in Peterhead and having presumably trained in Scotland went to South Shields in 1864 to act as clerk of works for J J Stevenson at Westoe House which was designed for his brother J C Stevenson. He remained in the town after the completion of this job and established a general practice in the 1870s. He died on 27 September 1903 leaving moveable estate of £5900. He was an active Wesleyan Methodist.

His son James (c.1863 -1937) who was born in Glasgow just prior to the move to South Shields took over the practice after his father's death. His son Thomas Alexander in his turn continued the firm in partnership with ___ Bradbury who had joined his father in 1936. The firm continued at least until the 1970s when it was styled Page Hill & Reed. James was awraded the MBE for his work with the Volunteer Life Brigade and the St John's Ambulance Brigade.
