Bio Notes: James Coutts was a master builder. He was foreman to Daniel Macandrew prior to Macandrew's departure for New Zealand. He probably took over Macandrew's workshop and the business at this time. He married Janet Burnett and died on 16 December 1880. His son, George Coutts, took over the business at his death.
