Basic Biographical Details

Name: Walter Duns
Designation:
Born: 1879 or 1880
Died: 1 April 1944
Bio Notes: Walter Duns was born in 1879 or 1880, the son of George Duns, 'master architect', and his wife Janet Rutherford. He lived and practised as an architect from Langtongate, Duns, Berwickshire in the 1920s and 1930s. He was presumably related to the earlier David Duns and George Duns, and was probably the father of the second George Duns whom he took into partnership on 8 April 1932, the practice title changing to Messrs Walter Duns, Architects.

Walter Duns died on 1 April 1944 at Gartmohr, Inverkeithing which was probably the home of his nephew. (We know his bephew lived in Inverkeithing). His death was sudden and it was not certified.
