Bio Notes: Alexander Mavor was apprenticed in the building trade in London but moved to Aberdeen as assistant to William Henderson & Sons. Through the Hendersons Mavor forged links with the Free Church and continued this connection after moving to Aberdeen in the 1890s. By the mid-1870s his firm was known as Mavor & Sons. He died on 31 October 1904. He does not appear in the British Architectural Library/RIBA 'Directory of British Architects 1834-1914', and no further details are yet known.
