Bio Notes: Robert Caldwell was the son of Thomas Caldwell, builder, Edinburgh. His training and early years have not yet been established but he practised in Inverness until 1839 when he moved to Edinburgh and became a burgess. He opened an Edinburgh office which seems to have been at 66 Broughton Street, Edinburgh in 1841-42. But he disappears from Post Office directories after this.
